Cuckoo to close this spring

Toy and supplier's MD Tony Eves says its a 'logical time' to cease trading

UK toy supplier Cuckoo Ltd. is to cease trading this March after more the 25 years of trading.

MD Tony Eves announce the business will officially close on 31 March 2018 to make way for the next generation of toy businesses to take up the mantel. Tony says it is a personal choice to close the business and that it seems a "logical time to call it a day and chill".

In a statement the he said: 'As there is no one in my immediate family who would like to continue to take the business forward and with the lease on my warehouse coming to an end, not to mention a quote from one of the Cuckoo guys fifteen years ago (we’re not getting any younger you know) it seems like a logical time to call it a day and chill.'

He added that since he started in sales in 1972 the industry had changed so much, from new communication tools and social media to other challenges facing the next wave of toy businesses, 'the challenges are very different now and need a fresh (and probably younger) approach.'

He added: 'I’ve been incredibly fortunate to work with some really fantastic people, from our suppliers round the world and in the UK, our people at Cuckoo and of course the people who made it possible, the customers, all of whom I thank.'

Tony will be at Spring Fair next week as a visitor to thank customers and friends from over the years.

The company will also be having a closing down sale to sell off all final stock. Contact or 01937 848460 to learn more.
