RHS launches Jayco ladies' glove range

The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) has announced the launch of a range of RHS-licensed ladies’ gardening gloves by Jayco, the UK's foremost specialist supplier of quality work gloves

Called The RHS Collection, this is an award-winning range of beautiful ladies’ gardening gloves, made using superior deerskin, an exceptional leather which offers incredible comfort, feel, durability and fit. The inclusion of ergonomically designed padding to the palm of the gloves results in added comfort when using hand tools in the garden.

The gloves come in three styles, with a different floral image on the back of each style of glove. The three images symbolise particular sentiments, based on Victorian interpretations of the meaning of flowers: a poppy symbolising remembrance, a rose symbolising friendship and an iris symbolising hope and wisdom. The images are based on engravings, lithographs and watercolours taken from the RHS Lindley Library, the world’s finest collection of botanical art.

The range which was awarded Best New Product in the Home and Gift category at GLEE 2017, is being stocked in major and independent garden centres and retailers, as well as various gift retailers and online gardening outlets such as Harrod Horticultural, Crocus and, of course, More online and physical retail outlets will be announced in the coming months.

The core market for this range is anyone who enjoys gardening. However, the gloves are so comfortable and beautiful that people are already giving them as gifts for general wear!

Peter Cooney, Owner and Manager, Jayco, says: 'We are thrilled to secure the endorsement of the RHS for our new range of gardening gloves, and delighted with the RHS Lindley Library artwork – which has made this a range as good to look at as it is to wear!'

Cathy Snow, Licensing Manager, RHS, says: 'The combination of tough, durable and yet elegant material with some truly gorgeous illustrations from the RHS Lindley Library has produced a very desirable selection of gardening gloves. I’m not surprised that non-gardeners also want a pair!'
