Poppy brooch has the X Factor

Kleshna poppyA special brooch collection created by British jewellery designer Kleshna is expected to raise over £10,000 for the Royal British Legion.

The brooches were worn by all four judges on ITV’s X Factor show this past weekend, and have also been sported by The Saturdays, Katherine Jenkins and Dame Judi Dench. They have also been featured in the Daily Mail and Independent newspapers.

Expanding from a single brooch commission that raised £6,000 in 2008, this year Kleshna produced three new collectables: a multi-wear enamel, crystal and pewter poppy brooch, a unisex crystal mini poppy lapel or tie pin and a “one size fits all” crystal and enamel poppy friendship bracelet. All feature Crystalised - Swarovski Elements and complement the much-loved 2009 hand-woven poppy.

The crystal poppy brooch sold out soon after going on sale - the busy staff at Kleshna tweeted: "Drafting In extra help again! We are inundated! So glad we are this busy is such a great cause!"

Since 2003, the Royal British Legion has helped over 10,000 members of the Armed Forces family who are part of the Afghan and Iraq generation. Armistice Day (also known as Remembrance Day) is on November 11.
