Yankee Candle’s sales success

Yankee Candle Europe, the European subsidiary of Yankee Candle, the world’s leading home fragrancing manufacturer has announced an impressive increase in sales for the first six months of 2010.

Yankee Candle Europe has achieved 43.1% increase in sales compared to the same period in 2009. This includes Yankee Candle Gmbh based in Dinkelsbuhl, Germany launched in November 2008.

Clive Harper, managing director, said: “This is a fantastic achievement for the European business and we are delighted to say that a majority of the growth is from our UK business.

“This is primarily driven by increased demand within existing customers because the trust in the brand is at an all time high and one that consumers rely on for quality. I am pleased that our loyal UK retailers are benefiting from an increase in sales and this is a position we aim to achieve in Germany, France, Italy - indeed within all the countries that we operate.”

The export business within Yankee Candle Europe has seen a vast growth with an impressive 90% increase in sales. Yankee Candle concessions across the UK and Germany have been a major growth channel for the last few years with the UK now boasting 111 locations. The concessions business as a whole has increased sales of 62% above 2009.
