Add a splash of colour with Miss Milly

The popularity of scarves continues unabated and retailers are faced with a huge number of suppliers from which to choose.

With a reputation for quality jewellery and scarves at reasonable prices, British brand Miss Milly has grown considerably in its first three years. This season sees the company launch its first range of scarves with a greater emphasis on in-house design.

“We have always been very careful with our choice of scarves,” explains Sarah Watmore, founder of Miss Milly. “Even though we are often selecting off-the-shelf lines, we try to pick styles that are different from our competitors in order to offer greater choice to retailers.

“Up until this spring we found that retailers were selecting based principally on price but that has now changed and design has grown in importance. As a result, we have been able to get much more involved in the design element of our new cotton scarves.”

To tie in with the Floria Collection, Miss Milly’s flagship jewellery range, the scarves use the same Pantone colours as the jewellery. So, for example, the seasonal paprika orange of the SC59 Large Heart Scarf is replicated in the FN70 Multi Disc Necklace.

“The pressure is on retailers to continually improve their customers’ experience,” continues Sarah. “And our customers that are doing the best are the ones who are making the most of the brands they stock. As we have developed Miss Milly, we have introduced ways for retailers to do this with branded gift packaging and branded display stands and POS. Co-ordinating scarves and jewellery on our trade stand has really inspired some of our customers and they have started to do this themselves in-store with great results! Now, by more closely co-ordinating the jewellery and scarves, these displays should have even greater impact and help increase the bottom line as customers opt to buy the matching scarf as well as the jewellery set.”

Made in India from 100% cotton, the new scarves are machine washable. They measure 100cm x 180cm and come with a Miss Milly care label. And branded gift bags made specifically for the scarves are available.
