Britons are most generous people in Europe

According to One4All Gift Card, the amount Brits spend on gifting rose 7% last year and is still rising.

Gifting has become an increasingly dominant part of our spending pattern in recent years. The figures, from the latest Gifting Index, show that UK consumers spent an average of £370.67 on gifting occasions in 2014, rising to £397.37 in 2015. These figures are exclusive of birthday and Christmas spending, with Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and housewarmings claiming the lion’s share of the market.

These figures were shared by Spring Fair, the UK’s largest gift and home trade event. It's set to feature the UK’s largest number of Gift suppliers under one roof, with more than 2,500 exhibitors to appear at Birmingham’s NEC from 5-9 February 2017.

One of the major focuses this year will be home fragrance – arguably the largest single segment in the gifting market right now – with the UK representing the largest nation buying into this trend. Over 50 major home fragrance brands will be showing their ranges at Spring Fair including, Wax Lyrical, Ashleigh & Burwood, Flame & Fragrance, Price’s Candles, Aromatize and Shearer Candles.
