BCTF in full swing

An unmissable opportunity to see the cream of British designer-makers

British Craft Trade Fair opened its doors yesterday and runs until tomorrow, April 10, at the Great Yorkshire Showground.

The Fair presents more than 400 of the finest quality British suppliers and artisan crafts people, offering the most beautiful handmade products across categories which include: Ceramics, glassware, home fragrances, jewellery, fashion accessories for men and women, home furnishings and textiles, greetings cards, original paintings and wall art, sculptures, collectables, decorative home accessories and specialty food.

With every item on display guaranteed to have been created exclusively in the UK, retailers visiting BCTF can be assured the articles they choose will be of sound provenance with strong sustainable credentials. Exhibitor products are created using non-industrial, specialist crafting techniques, often with a wonderful back-story and heritage. Many also offer contemporary ‘upcycled’ items made partially or exclusively from reclaimed materials.

Show organiser, Margeret Bunn, says: 'Over the past 43 years BCTF has grown not only in size but also in reputation as the leading trade fair for British hand made products. Creative talent has always thrived in the UK and the show provides both a fantastic launch pad for emerging designer-makers and a wealth of inspiration for retailers in search of something truly special.'

BCTF is also an easy event to visit and to get around. There is plenty of free parking at The Great Yorkshire Show Ground, which boasts wonderful views of Harrogate. Throughout the day a free shuttle car service is available between the venue and Harrogate train station (no booking required), with a second free service running between Leeds/Bradford Airport and the venue (book in advance on 07774480004). Attendance is strictly trade only.
