Exclusively New For 2016 Show

Guided trend tours are proving popular as the countdown continues to the Exclusively retail shows

It’s only days now until Exclusively Housewares and sister show Exclusively Electrical open their doors at London’s Business Design Centre.

And one new element of this year’s retail events is new 30-minute guided ‘Trend Tours’, sponsored by BHETA and hosted by trend forecaster Scarlet Opus.

These are already proving popular across a range of show visitors, with places already booked by buyers from a major supermarket and an incentive company looking for product, among many others.

The team of trend analysts behind the tours has been working closely with exhibitors to identify products that epitomise key trends in the market.

Some of the trends they will talk about are relevant now or will start making an impact in the run up to Christmas, others will reveal themselves next spring/summer.

The Trend Tours are limited to small groups of five or six people, being led by one of the Scarlet Opus team. They all start from the Shows’ new Seminar & Trend Theatre, where visitors will be able to see all the ‘On Trend’ products identified by Scarlet Opus displayed alongside key trends information and indicators. Visitors will find this on the Gallery in the Business Design Centre, close to the Shows’ dining room.

In addition, visiting companies are being offered the opportunity to book a Trend Tour just for their own team if it suits them better, and specific tours are also being offered to press.

Visitors wishing to book a place on one of the Trend Tours should visit either of the show websites and select a time from the information displayed.

Show director Simon Boyd says: “As two specialist shows we offer a depth and breadth of brands, products and suppliers that is very attractive to a great mix of retailers for whom housewares and SDA products range from the purely functional right through to ideal gifts.

“The Scarlet Opus team are providing visitors with an On Trend product display, guided Trend Tours and all our exhibitors will have ‘On Trend’ logos to display to highlight appropriate products, so it’s also the perfect place to spot new trends emerging!”

There is also an exciting programme of seminars taking place at the show, including a talk by John Ryan, Shops Editor at Retail Week magazine, and plenty of product demonstrations.

Both shows open run next week from Tuesday, 14 to Wednesday, 15 June, at the Business Design Centre, London.
