FIVE days to Home & Gift Harrogate

The countdown is on – let's take a look at the newly launched Great Northern Retail Summit.

Exciting news this year for all visitors to Home & Gift Harrogate has to be the announcement made by Clarion giving the first line-up of inspirational speakers appearing at the inaugural Great Northern Retail Summit this July. Have you secured your place?

This will take place on Monday 20 July at the Majestic Hotel in Harrogate, the one-day summit will deliver an inspiring and educational programme, offering invaluable business advice for any independent retailer wishing to grow their business.

Speakers will cover topics relevant to the two core themes: reviving the high street and how to optimise digital opportunities.

The diverse range of experts taking to the stage include designer and entrepreneur Wayne Hemingway, who will kick-off the summit with a keynote on creative-led regeneration and how this will benefit independent retailers, followed by digital and mobile marketing expert David Skerrett, Managing Partner at Nimbletank, the most awarded UK Mobile Agency and a BIMA Hot 100 for 2015, who will be taking part in a panel discussion exploring how technology such as beacons, heat detecting cameras, biometrics and Pinterest tags in-store are transforming the customer experience.

Further good news for those in attendance, in the afternoon you also can listen to author and business builder Warren Knight; a creative and cultural consultant who will deliver a provoking address explaining how technology has disrupted sales and marketing and give retailers advice on how to use new technologies to build brand awareness.

Also on the subject of high street redevelopment, Christine Garnett of award-winning Hunters of Helmsley and Gareth Marshall, the owner of the luxury Bath House stores will run a case study session for small shops, sharing insights into their own successful initiatives for attracting and retaining customers. Also on the subject of reviving the high street will be Clare Tymon; artist and gallery owner Elizabeth Emmens-Wilson, and digital and mobile guru, David Skerrett.
