Gardeners can help charity grow with fresh new range

Disability charity Papworth Trust hopes to grow its funds by selling a fresh new range of gardening accessories to its green-fingered supporters.

The fun range includes mugs, t-shirts, sweaters and bags carrying cheeky dictionary definitions like:

Shed (n): typically inhabited by men avoiding jobs

Topiary (n): the art of trimming your bush

The charity already raises funds through gardening activities. Many of its centres have gardens for people to grow plants, fruit and vegetables. These are either sold to raise funds or used in the kitchens, where people can gain essential living skills such as preparing a healthy meal. Some centres also make and sell planters and bird boxes.

Papworth Trust Fundraising Manager Annette Angell said: “We want to grow our charity to support more people, so we are asking green-fingered supporters to buy our new range and think of us every time they cultivate their own crops.

Every day we see how gardening can benefit people’s mental and physical health. Now you can help more people reap the rewards.”

All proceeds from sales of the range will be used to provide essential care and support to older and disabled people and their families.

The charity has an online store and is looking for additional distributors for the range.
