Gibsons and Chotapeg join forces

Gibsons, the UK’s leading puzzle manufacturer, and Chotapeg an online social community for grandparents, have joined forces to reinforce the importance of active play for children and the key role grandparents have in this

Puzzling has recently grown in popularity within the mainstream market and is a hobby that has many health benefits for both children and adults. From improving hand-eye coordination and promoting manual dexterity, jigsaws also develop problem solving skills, jigsaws also stimulate conversation and bring people together as they try to solve the tricky puzzle. It’s a hobby that generates conversion regardless of age, gender or race.

Over the coming months Chotapeg and Gibsons will be working together on joint initiatives to promote traditional play between grandparents and grandchildren. With childcare costs rising 5.1% since 2014, many parents rely heavily on grandparents so they can continue working. Figures from the Family and Childcare Trust show that sending a child under two to nursery part-time (25 hours) costs £115.45 a week in the UK*. Because of this rise, grandparents are more involved with their grandchildren than ever before.
