Gibsons help RSPCA

The independent jigsaw puzzle and board game company have teamed up with the RSPCA to celebrate the work they do to prevent cruelty towards animals

After launching six licensed jigsaws in July, Gibsons have supported the animal welfare charity by volunteering at RSPCA South Godstone Animal Centre and more recently, providing ‘Welcome Home’ packs for the adopted dogs and cats.

The RSPCA rehome hundreds of animals every single day, many of whom have been the victims of cruelty or neglect. To help the pets and their owners settle into their new home, Gibsons provided food bowls, toys, care guide books and collars in their ‘Welcome Home’ packs.

Chino, a German shepherd was one of the dogs that have been recently rehomed. He was abandoned when the RSPCA picked him up and had a badly injured leg which eventually had to be amputated. He was cared for at the RSPCA South Godstone Animal Centre before he was adopted by Mr Norman and his family, who welcomed Chino into their loving home.

Chino, Pickles and George are just some of the animals that were available to adopt at the animal centres and the RSPCA urge responsible adults to drop by to consider whether they want to adopt a new furry friend.

Ellen Camillin, Licensing Manager of the RSPCA, said: “We would like to thank Gibsons for providing the Welcome Home packs for newly adopted animals, as well as working with us to produce these jigsaw puzzles. Each jigsaw tells the story of an animal rescued and rehabilitated by the RSPCA, much like Chino, George and Pickles.

“Children and families can piece together these heartfelt stories of animals in need whose lives have now been turned around. The charity’s mission is to prevent cruelty, promote kindness and alleviate the suffering of all animals. We work towards a world where all animals are respected and treated with compassion.”

Kate Gibson, Managing Director at Gibsons, states: “We are delighted to support the RSPCA through sales of our jigsaw puzzles and have been keen to explore other ways we can help. Not only were our team able to volunteer at a local RSPCA animal shelter which they greatly enjoyed, we have been able to provide these Welcome Home Packs which has furthered our understanding of the fantastic work carried out by the RSPCA.”

The RSPCA receives 10% of the wholesale price of the six Gibsons’ jigsaws and hopes to raise at least £7,500 through the sale of the puzzles. The jigsaws are available in a variety of piece counts and feature the animals who have been rescued, rehabilitated and rehomed thanks to the RSPCA’s care and attention. Each puzzle is made from 100% recycled board and each tells a unique story.
