Gift of the Year winners revealed

Hinchcliffe and Barber scoop Judges' Choice at ceremony yesterday where all winners were presented their awards

The Giftware Association’s prestigious Gift of the Year 2015 competition winners have been revealed. The winners were presented their awards at a special ceremony held at the NEC, which closed the first day of Spring Fair yesterday (1 Feb).

This year's awards attracted the highest number of entries in recent memory and also sparked lively debate among the judges, particularly during the selection of the winner of The Judges’ Choice prize. Sponsored by Spring Fair, the Judges' Choice was awarded to Hinchcliffe and Barber Songbird Grey Ceramics from My GiftsTrade (pictured).

Product designer and Gift of the Year ambassador Sebastian Conran presented this coveted prize at the ceremony, attended by finalists, judges, GA Retail members and sponsors. Winners of all 20 Gift of the Year award categories were also revealed.

The Judges choice winner was a particular favourite of new judge Anna Rigby, the John Lewis Partnership’s Head of Buying, Home Accessories, Gifts and Seasonal. “The category that stood out for me overall was Made in UK," she said. "I think it had the best quality as a group and I particularly liked the Hinchcliffe and Barber ceramics.”

GA chief executive Isabel Martinson said: “The 2015 competition has been a memorable one. We again strengthened our team of judges so that it would be representative of retailers of all shapes and sizes. And our suppliers have again stepped up to the plate to present a diverse array of innovative and beautifully designed products.”
