Hallmark unveils exclusive ‘Handpicked’ range just for independent card shops

Celebrating the art of card giving and creativity through a 15 venue roadshow

Hallmark is going on the road in January visiting 15 locations across the UK and Ireland to showcase its brand new collections for Everyday cards and GP, wrap and gift ranges as well as its Christmas offering for 2015.

The roadshows will be held at art galleries, museums, and places of interest from the likes of the Yorkshire Sculpture Park (Leeds), the Titanic Museum (Belfast), the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art (Newcastle), Mercedes Benz World (Weybridge), The National Space Centre (Leicester) to Bloomsbury House (London) and Skene House (Aberdeen), Chill Factore ( Manchester), Norton House (Edinburgh), Silver Springs Moran Hotel (Cork), Croke Park (Dublin), Paintworks (Bristol), The Space (Norwich) and Royal Liver Building (Liverpool) – with free admission to the venues.

The shows will feature leading designers from the brand’s creative team, opportunities to win original pieces of art, as well as showcase Hallmark’s new ranges and collections for Christmas and Everyday, including a bespoke range for independents only, and exciting new licensed ranges.

Two ranges that are set to get attention at the shows are an exclusive range created solely with Gold Crown and independent retailers in mind called Handpicked plus a new value range.

Speaking of the new ‘Handpicked’ range, Alison Kildunne, the Head of Brand & Marketing said: ‘We are launching an exclusive Handpicked range for our Gold Crown and Independent customers that will have more than 250 cards by the end of 2015. This collection will only appear in independent retailers – the cards featured in the collection have been individually selected in collaboration with our independent customers. In the range there are new signatures, including a core traditional photography collection for male and female cards, sophisticated female humour designs, cards using text designs which are great for easy open send solutions as well as some fantastic new pop-up cards and some cute character development. The collection also features free POS for stand out in store.

‘I particularly love the range because it also it goes back to our heritage, when no Hallmark greeting card would reach the marketplace without J.C Hall’s personal mark of approval "O.K.J.C." on the back. The way we’ve approached the Handpicked range involving our own retailers, and the care and attention to detail that’s gone into it, is traditionally what Hallmark is about.’

The value range has a £1 price point and the collection come with free POS. This range of 39 cards are all brand new designs, created on a square format and have a mix across birthdays, occasions and blank cards.

Invitations for the Hallmark shows, celebrating the art of card giving will be arriving through letterboxes this November.
