The B&LLAs 2016 – winners announced

More than 350 licensors, licensees, agents and retailers were at London’s Dorchester Hotel to celebrate the inaugural Brand and Lifestyle Licensing Awards, known as the Bellas.

Wayne Hemmingway, the co-founder of Red or Dead gave an inspirational pre-awards talk on how the brand was developed and the projects he has undertaken since its sale, whilst host, comedian and actor Hugh Dennis kept the audience laughing as he reflected on his own experience as a brand manager at Unilever. Finally, Alan Dedicoat the familiar voice of the balls on BBC 1’s National Lottery show became the voice of the B&LLAS for the afternoon event.

Organised by the team behind the UK Licensing Awards, the B&LLAs celebrate the achievements of all those involved in the brand and lifestyle licensing community. As Jakki Brown, the joint managing director of Max Publishing (owner of the B&LLAs) in her opening speech: “Through the B&LLAs true justice can be done to the innovation, collaborations and consumer-engagement that brand licensing is increasingly achieving.”

The B&LLAs have been fully embraced by the industry. Brand Licensing Europe 2016 was headline sponsor, LIMA gave its full support while a host of leading names formed a very strong roll call of sponsors.

Guests dug deep in the hope of winning one of an impressive array of raffle prizes that raised £4,340 for The Light Fund which this year is striving to hit its fundraising target of £1m to help good causes.
