John Lewis named in Top 20 Superbrands

Store wins Retail-Department Stores & General Retailers category

John Lewis have been named as one of the UK’s Superbrands in a public vote on the strongest consumer brands. In the Superbrands consumer top 20, John Lewis came in at number 15, with Lego topping the list, Gillette second and Apple taking third place. However, John Lewis took the number one spot in the business Top 20.

Identified annually through an extensive and robust research process measuring the equity of thousands of brands in both the direct to consumer and B2B markets, just 58 have this year achieved Superbrand status.

In addition to John Lewis, Hallmark are honoured alongside the likes of Audi, Barclays, Dulux, Green & Black’s, Heathrow, Money Supermarket, P&O Ferries, Stobart Group, Superdrug and Wiliam Hill – with Ryman and Staedtler also on the list.

Voted for by 2500 members of the British public and ratified by a voluntary council of senior independent industry experts, the process managed by The Centre for Brand Analysis in partnership with Research Now SSI saw just over 1500 brands from across 62 categories judged against the three core criteria of a Superbrand – quality, reliability and distinction.
