London craft show cancelled

Giftag called off with organisers citing exhibitors’ fears over recent political events

Philip Bunn, of exhibition organisers PSM, said: 'It is unfortunate that we have had to cancel the fair – although a British-only trade gift fair was a great idea, the level of interest and support for the venture was not as strong as we were lead to believe.

'I think recent political events in the UK have put a degree of uncertainty in the minds of many potential exhibitors and launching a new fair with only a minimum number of companies was not a real option.

'We have not ruled out the possibility of relaunching Giftag in more stable political circumstances and will continue to look carefully at the best time to deliver such an event.'

The show was due to take place on September 10-12 September at the Old Truman Brewery in Brick Lane.

PSM also organise the British Craft Trade Fair in Harrogate which has been showcasing British designer-makers for more than four decades, and this annual – and still growing – event will go ahead as normal, with the 44th show slated for April 8-10, 2018, at the Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate.
