Miffy’s a Top TV Performer

With product partnerships galore 2016 is busy year for beloved children’s character

After just eight months on air, the enchanting new TV series Miffy’s Adventures Big and Small is pulling in the pre-school audience on Tiny Pop.

Miffy is one of Tiny Pop’s top performing shows and a big brand property for the Tiny Pop Channel. The simplicity and charm of the stories are also perfect for the Tiny Pop audience.

The 3D animated TV series, from award winning studio Blue Zoo, follows Dick Bruna’s bunny character and her friends as they explore the world around them. Each of the 52 episodes includes a fun adventure – either big or small - with simple narrative and cheerful songs to drive it along.

Miffy’s new popularity on the small screen has already started to be reflected at retail.

Accompanying the new TV series, Miffy now features in Redan’s monthly children’s magazine, First Friends, and Simon & Schuster will be using the distinctive 3D artwork in a range of books, which will be published next spring.

This autumn will see the launch of a feature plush plus figurines and playsets and Moonpig is also expanding its personalised card offering to include the new TV treatment.

For fans of the classic Miffy, there’s also a collaboration with UK fashion designers Chinti and Parker, comprising a luxury range of cashmere knitwear hitting high end stores in July. Licensees Poetic Gem, BCI and Roy Lowe will also continue Miffy’s success in Primark – whilst a girl’s pyjama will hit Toys R Us stores this summer.

Alicia Davenport, Director of DRi Licensing, said: ‘After such a busy year with Miffy’s 60th anniversary in 2015, it is fantastic to see the success of the TV show and the buzz of licensing and retail activity continue to thrive around this iconic evergreen brand.’
