‘Painter of Light’ artist Thomas Kinkade dies
Gifts Today has been advised that Thomas Kinkade, the “Painter of Light” died on Friday 7th April at the age of 54.
Considered to be one of the most successful artists of all time, his distinctively sentimental paintings are said to be hanging in one out of every twenty homes in the United States.
Many artists have attempted to copy the style of Thomas Kinkade, but none have come near to matching his ability with texture and light. He was a unique talent.
On the gifts front, Gibsons has been publishing licensed Thomas Kinkade jigsaw puzzles for over ten years. Kate Armitage of Gibsons comments: “The skilfully intricate, romantic and bright pictures make perfect puzzles which have always been extremely popular. We were enormously saddened to hear about the loss of our most popular artist Thomas Kinkade and our condolences are with his family. We will continue to sell and release new images from Thomas and we fully expect a further increase in demand now that his paintings will be limited to already completed works”
