Search For The Next Generation Of Potters!

Leading British tableware manufacturer, Portmeirion Group, welcomed over 150 people to its Stoke headquarters last month as part of a recruitment drive to find the next generation of skilled potters

The recruitment events, which took place on 18th and 20th September were nothing short of a success and saw a wide range of skilled recruits take part in a number of tasks with a chance of securing one of 30 temporary roles available.

Portmeirion Group is one of the largest employers within the pottery industry, and this year alone has recruited over 100 new employees. The event, which took place at the Group’s headquarters in Stoke, showed the first-rate working conditions and sheer amount of development prospects available within the Group. It was therefore no surprise that an array of talented potters, and those new to the industry were both eager to seize the opportunity.

All applicants were met by a member of the HR team and were provided with information about the company, including its brands Portmeirion, Spode, Royal Worcester and Pimpernel. Candidates were then asked to take part in a short interview and successful candidates subsequently took part in trade tests to match their skills within the roles available, with employment due to commence later this month.
