Rainbow raises a toast to 45 years of The Very Hungry Caterpillar

The World of Eric Carle's renowned literary phenomenon turns 45 this year and Rainbow Designs has celebrated this momentous event in style at Spring Fair

The Very Hungry Caterpillar was first published in 1969 and this year's Spring Fair at the NEC saw Rainbow, a leading supplier of Very Hungry Caterpillar plush, wooden and developmental toys, toast the anniversary with champagne and cake on its stand.

Rainbow also unveiled a host of new Very Hungry Caterpillar toys launched especially for this milestone 45th anniversary.

New additions for 2014 to Rainbow's successful collection include the expansion of the Infant Developmental range with the new Tummy Time Playmat, Large Developmental Elephant, Large Developmental Ladybird, Twist and Click Blocks and Wooden Counting Caterpillar.

Anthony Temple, Rainbow Designs' Managing Director said, "We're delighted to be toasting The Very Hungry Caterpillar in its 45th year and to be showcasing our new products at Spring Fair.

"The Very Hungry Caterpillar is an enduring classic loved by pre-schoolers and parents alike, and Spring Fair was the perfect platform for the launch of our colourful, fun and educational new products - and to kick-start 45th anniversary celebrations and events which are lined up for this year," added Anthony.

Rainbow's new Very Hungry Caterpillar additions build upon the charming wooden toy range which includes the Wooden Shape Sorter Clock, the Wooden Stacker, The Very Hungry Caterpillar Wooden Pull-along, a Peg Puzzle and Dominoes.

Pre-schoolers and their parents also love the Very Hungry Caterpillar Jack in the Box and the array of plush including Bean Toys.
