Social media boost for British company

The power of social media has helped boost trade sales of a new British-designed home décor product in its first year.

Launched at Spring Fair, the Up In Lights range of alphabet letters, numbers, stars and hearts has had a fantastic response from retailers throughout the UK.

Manufacturer Smiling Faces employed an effective pull promotional strategy creating an online buzz with the help of bloggers and vloggers. And consumers have been posting photos online of the letters in use around their homes, at weddings and other events.

The contemporary, high quality, LED-lit letters are made from MDF and can be either wall-mounted or displayed free-standing and come in attractive packaging with a space-saving spinner. The affordable price point makes the range an attractive proposition for a wide variety of gift retailers from independents to garden centres and homeware stores.

“Christmas stock is selling fast so we are encouraging our existing stockists to forward order to ensure their customers are not disappointed,” says Andy Osborne, founder of Smiling Faces. “And we are working feverishly to get extra stock shipped in to fulfill demand from new stockists.”

The full Up In Lights range will be on show on stand 3S15 at Autumn Fair. New stock will hopefully be available for Christmas and retailers will also be able to pre-order for Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day. And take the opportunity to find out about the company’s exciting new product launch for spring 2016.
