Every little helps as Tesco go back to black

Retail giant makes a profit again after disastrous year.

New Tesco boss David Lewis has been lauded for leading the supermarket to a £162million profit a year after suffering one of the biggest losses in corporate history.

Tesco has recorded its first quarterly sales growth in three years.

The company puts the result down to shutting shops and a better than expected Christmas.

In the year to February 2015, Tesco lost £6.3billion.

Mr Lewis set out a recovery plan in October 2014 as like-for-like sales in the UK rose 0.9 per cent for the three months to February.
