The quest for the latest trends: young experts out and about at Ambiente

For the fourth time trend-watchers from the Fontys University of Applied Science are scouting for the year’s mega-trends

Entering its fourth round at Ambiente 2015 is a rather young, but already very successful format: from 13 to 17 February 2015, the Trend-watchers are once again on their research tour – and are extending their scope.

If the students from the Fontys University of Applied Science from Tilburg in Holland have so far been carrying out their field research for Loft in Hall 11.0, from 2015 onwards they will also be including Hall 4.0 in their researches and here the product emphasis is on Table Contemporary Design. There will be guided tours where the young trend experts will be presenting Ambiente visitors with their quite personal trend products.

‘In cooperation with the Fontys University we are providing targeted support for the new generation in the field of trend scouting. We are creating interfaces between the fair, exhibitors and the new upcoming generation, and are offering the trend-watchers the opportunity to make new contacts with the consumer goods industry and to develop existing ones,’ says Nicolette Naumann, the vice president Ambiente/Tendence.
The trend-watchers will also present the results of their research at a stand in the foyer of Hall 11.0. The research can be followed digitally in the trend-watcher blog under

With around 40,000 students, the Fontys University of Applied Science is one of the largest institutions for higher education in Holland. It is one of the few universities in the world to offer students the subject of trend-watching’ as part of their International Lifestyle Studies course.
