Through the Generations

There’s a new kid on the block at Widdop Bingham

Daniel Illingworth, the youngest son of Stuart Illingworth, the company’s MD, joins the award winning giftware company on 2nd January in a sales development role. Daniel is a familiar face around the company having grown up with both his Father and two uncles directing the company as well as holidays spent working in various roles throughout the Company.

Daniel, aged 25, joins Widdop Bingham at an exciting time in the company’s history. The company is investing heavily to meet the challenges of the ever-changing retail sector and the timing of Daniel’s arrival could not be better.

He comments, “Joining the family business has always been an ambition of mine.  It feels as though Widdop Bingham is almost part of my DNA having witnessed its development and growth over the years. My three years at Hibu (formerly Yell) allowed me to develop and hone my skill set and now I look forward to having the opportunity to apply these skills at Widdops where I hope they will make a real difference.”

Daniel studied for a BA in Business and Marketing at Sheffield Hallam University which included a gap year working in the Buying Team at JD Williams. Since leaving University he has worked in a sales role as an Account Manager with Hibu which has provided him with invaluable experience of face-to-face sales with key responsibility for the opening of new accounts as well as the management of existing ones.
