Two for Frida Kahlo

Barcelona based Art Ask Agency, are privileged to announce two very special Frida Kahlo licensed products with two top class licensees and the Frida Kahlo Corporation - Jan Constantine and Retro Peepers

British designer Jan Constantine is known for her bold, distinct and original collection of home textiles and her work as a designer and manufacturer of a range of home interior products.

The licensed iconic Frida Kahlo cushion is intricately hand-embroidered and appliqued in wool by artisans, creating a stunning work of art for consumers’ sofas. The cushion is available now in two colours.

Jan Constantine distribute their products in top stores such as Harrods, Selfridges, Liberty and Fortnum & Mason, among others. Repeat orders from Selfridges are already in place.

Retro Peepers was established over 15 years ago and specialises in creating stylish retro-inspired eyewear. As well as designing reproduction vintage-style spectacles and sunglasses the brand also has an archive of vintage frames sourced from all over the world and works regularly with costume designers from film, theatre and TV.

To coincide with the V&A’s much anticipated exhibition: Frida Kahlo – Making Her Self Up -, an on-line eyewear boutique, is launching a pair of officially licensed sunglasses based on those worn by the seminal Mexican artist. The large, classic, mid-20th Century, cat-eye frames, make an uncompromising, bold and stylish statement. Retro Peepers frames are a contemporary reproduction of Frida’s sunglasses. Each pair will be sold with a brightly coloured floral folding case and polishing cloth, also inspired by the artist’s work and Mexican heritage.

'Both of these items are in the higher end price bracket at over £140 each. With the level of work, craftsmanship and design involved, they are very much value for money. Heirlooms of the future,' says Maria Strid - Art Ask Agency.
