V&A makes Portmeirion Choices

The Victoria & Albert Museum has selected the Choices tableware collection, designed exclusively for Portmeirion by Queensberry Hunt, for its permanent collection of ceramics

The prestigious Victoria and Albert Museum in London has selected Portmeirion's Choices tableware collection for the museum's permanent collection of ceramics, which is the most comprehensive collection of ceramics in any museum in the world.

Choices was designed by Queensberry Hunt and is manufactured by Dankotuwa in Sri Lanka exclusively for Portmeirion.

The Curator of Contemporary Ceramics, Alun Graves, was intrigued, in particular, by the flat backs of the plates, a unique feature of Choices, which prevents scratching and ensures that the top surface of the plates are perfectly flat.

David Queensberry himself delivered the Choices range to Judith Crouch of the Museum’s department of Ceramics and Glass.
