Wedgwood to display at three UK flower shows

Wedgwood continues its celebration of joint heritage with the Royal Horticultural Society, appearing across three flower shows in the UK where it will present its Tea Conservatory and launch its key nature-inspired collections

Wedgwood continues its celebration of joint heritage with the Royal Horticultural Society - with the founding of the RHS by John Wedgwood; Josiah Wedgwood’s son in 1804.

Wedgwood will appear across three flower shows, including RHS Chelsea Flower Show, RHS Chatsworth Flower Show and RHS Tatton Park. Wedgwood will showcase its renowned Tea Conservatory as well as launch its key collections under the heading, Bringing Nature into the Home.

RHS Chelsea Flower Show - May 22-26
Wedgwood’s inaugural RHS Chelsea Flower Show Garden in the Rock Garden Bank is a celebration of a feminine space created by multi award-winning British designer Jo Thompson. Nature, flowers and horticulture have always been at the heart of Wedgwood’s design work and this has been the source of inspiration for Jo’s garden.

Jo Thompson says: 'I’m delighted to be working with Wedgwood and love delving back into the colours and concepts of the past to bring them into the present with an added fresh modern interpretation. Wedgwood’s vision was for an inspirational, innovative and feminine space with a feeling of romance, sophistication and elegance. I wanted to embrace these aspects and create a garden for an empowered, positive, modern woman.

'The centrepiece of the garden is an amazing sculptural pavilion which represents both the curves of femininity and wonder of innovation. It will appear to sweep as if tracing the path of a re y and will touch the ground with an almost imperceptible lightness – it should surprise and delight visitors.'

Also located in Rock Garden Bank is the Wedgwood Tea Conservatory. This will focus on the Wedgwood Signature Tea Collection with Wedgwood’s Global Tea Curator Bernadine Tay. Celebrating Wedgwood’s 360 experience, visitors will be given an alternative view to the Wedgwood Garden from the conservatory while enjoying re-blended classics such as Wedgwood Earl Grey and Wedgwood Original.

Wedgwood’s new collections include floral teaware, Paeonia and interior ceramics, Folia, as well as re-imagined Jasper Ware with the Wedgwood Blue Pebble Collection and the Wedgwood Burlington Pot.

The pieces from the inaugural Wedgwood Artist in Residence will also be showcased in the Conservatory with beautiful feminine designs by Hitomi Hosono.

RHS Chatsworth Flower Show - June 6-10
Wedgwood and Chatsworth have a shared history dating back to the 18th Century – the years have seen collaborations from flower pots designed for the Duchess of Devonshire in 1778, to the Wedgwood Afternoon Tea available in the Flying Childers Restaurant today.

As the main sponsors of the RHS Chatsworth Flower Show in 2018, Wedgwood has worked with head gardener Steve Porter and craftsman Carl Hardman to create a free-form garden for this years’ RHS Chatsworth Show, using stone quarried on site from Chatsworth. Titled Emergence, the Garden Installation will be opposite the Piano Stage.

The Wedgwood Tea Conservatory will also be here, and visitors will be able to sit and take pleasure in the freshly prepared Wedgwood ‘anytime of the day’ tea menu created to be enhance the flavours of the newly-blended Wedgwood Signature teas.

Finally, a Wedgwood lecture will be held on Friday 8 June, where Gaye Blake-Roberts, curator of The Wedgwood Museum will give a lecture on John Wedgwood and The Foundation of the RHS.

RHS Flower Show Tatton Park - July 18-22
