The Top Flying Toy for Christmas!
With the Parrot AR.Drone predicted to become Flying Toys top product this Christmas, by the company's managing director David Rawlins, there has never been a better time to buy.
Since their appointment as UK distributor of the prestigious Parrot AR.Drone last April, Flying Toys have seen a significant increase in turnover, despite the difficult trading conditions during this period. Traditionally flown with an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch, an android facility is now available to allow the AR.Drone to recognise a number of leading brand smart phones and tablets including the Motorola Zoom, HTC Desire, Desire HD & Sensation, Samsung Galaxy S1, S2 & Nexus S, LG Optimus 2x & Sony Xperia Play. With further compatibility expected to be announced before Christmas, sales are conservatively expected to double, even before taking seasonal considerations into account.
As presented on prime time TV programmes including The Gadget Show and Top Gear, and already established as an internet phenomenon with over 10,000 user videos available worldwide, the Parrot AR.Drone has enjoyed considerable coverage in the specialist model press throughout the summer, with positive product reviews published in every major model magazine, including two front covers.
Buying this futuristic quadricopter from Flying Toys as a domestic distributor, allows non specialist retailers to purchase the Parrot AR.Drone carriage paid in a carton quantity comprising just 3 pieces, offering a unique opportunity to build valuable business in the run up to Christmas. Not only can the company provide copy and product images for retailers websites, plus a wide variety of professional promotional videos, an additional LiPo battery worth £29.99 is on offer with each AR.Drone whilst stocks last!
A limited number of superb counter displays with LED screens pre-loaded with the latests films, are available on loan to retailers without charge, with further free promotional merchandise offered to increase customer awareness. Traditional toy shops will be reassured by a 12 month manufacturers warranty plus full technical support, whilst every component of the AR.Drone is replaceable, with an approved repair service available if required.
The Parrot AR.Drone undoubtedly represents the ultimate flying toy, featuring four powerful brushless motors providing generous lift from the high performance propellers, combined with a package of sophisticated electronics, to make it easy and fun to fly. Offering the world's first quadricopter designed to be flown indoors or outside using touch screen Wi-Fi technology, the Augmented Reality Drone features an autopilot facility to take itself off, hover at a predetermined height, and land automatically upon command.
Simply tilt the smart phone to make the model travel forwards, backwards, left or right. Having mastered these basic techniques, slide the virtual throttle forward to climb and hold in a hover, then press land to safely descend. Sideways movements will make the AR.Drone spin slowly in either direction, with a clever variable rate adjustment available for increased control. For safe operation, release the screen for immediate stabilisation, whilst accidental contact with the rotors will cause them to stop.
Suitable for both beginners and experts, the AR.Drone features a robust carbon fibre framework, with a tough expanded polypropylene foam protective body for indoor use. A streamlined hull is provided for flying outside, with pairs of red and green LED lights conveniently fitted front and back to assist orientation. The AR.Drone generates its own Wi-Fi connection with a range of up to fifty metres, and incorporates an onboard computer. A pair of electronic gyroscopes provide superb directional stability controlling the pitch, roll angle and yaw, even outdoors in light winds. Whilst an ultrasound altimeter maintains the height up to six metres, combined with an accelerometer designed to accurately detect any movement.
A vertical and horizontal video camera selectively feed live footage to an on screen display on the iPhone or similar, with a high speed of sixty frames a second providing stabilisation for the vertical camera. An innovative detection system will identify other AR.Drones, or tagged virtual objects, whilst validating the shots fired against an enemy, when used in conjunction with AR.FlyingAce. The brilliant AR.Pursuit flying video game combines augmented reality with actual remote control, allowing interactive combat between up to three quadricopters, with the outdoor hulls available in different attractive colour schemes to facilitate recognition.
Parrot have recently launched the latest AR.Drone pylon racing App appropriately called AR.Race, allowing the quadricopter to be flown against the clock, or in competition with a number of friends. Huge inflatable accessories have been introduced to be used in conjunction with AR.Race, as demonstrated by Flying Toys in the AR.Drone Arena at the Wings & Wheels Model Spectacular.
A superb selection of AR.Drone videos may be seen on
www.youtube.com/flyingtoysltd including the new Toxic Factory Race, that attracted one million hits in its first month, and has been featured prominently in Parrot's extensive TV campaign. To show prospective AR.Drone pilots exactly how to operate this sophisticated product, a comprehensive collection of instructional videos are available to teach both basic and advanced techniques.
Finally the AR.Drone proved the star of the show during David's recent TV debut on Ideal World, with another one hour live Flying Toy presentation subsequently scheduled to take place on 13th November.
